Sexual harrassment in the army
Tears well up in the eyes of retired Sgt. Maj. Brenda Hoster as she relates her tale of sexual harassment at the hands of Sgt. Maj. of the Army Gene McKinney. Hoster said she was propositioned and unwillingly kissed by McKinney, the highest ranking non-commissioned officer in the U.S. Army, and her former boss. McKinney was acquitted of the charges.


Street-side execution in Rio
Crowds form around the bodies of two thieves killed by Rio de Janeiro police after the men robbed a nearby pharmacy. One police officer was charged with murder in the illegal street-side executions which were captured by TV cameras at the scene.


Striking steel workers
United Steelworkers of America picketers heckle scabs with insults and profanity as they enter a gate at the CF&I steel mill in Pueblo, Colo. Union workers had been on strike for three months over alleged unfair labor practices such as forced overtime.


Dialysis

Hurrican Andrew
Kentereon "Squiggy" Hollowell turns a back flip in front of the remains of the Sea Grape Village apartments where he lived before Hurricane Andrew ravaged South Florida. The government-subsidized housing in Homestead was condemned, leaving hundreds of low-income residents homeless.
