Derek Krantz, of Moab, Utah, looks for the cause of a failing front drive system on his Jeep as his children Jeremy Christensen, 6, center, Mikala Christensen, 4, in pink, and Autumn Krantz, 3, play in and under the truck. Krantz was attempting to climb the "Dump Bump," a challenging sandstone step above Moab, Utah, Friday, April 15, 2005, when his truck failed. After a uranium mining bust in the early 1980s, Moab has reinvented itself as a recreation mecca, attracting conflicting groups of mountain bikers, off-road drivers, climbers, hikers and rafters.
