Cyclists pedal along the upper rim of White Canyon en route to HIte Crossing on Lake Powell and the end of the more-than-400-mile ride. The Red Rock Canyons Tour, organized by Lizard Head Cycling Tours, wound through 400 miles of the desert southwest. The route traveled through canyons and national monuments in Colorado, Utah and Arizona, ending at Lake Powell. (Kevin Moloney for the New York Times)
