Argentine environmental activist Graciela Ramaciotti examines the stump of a tree logged fifty years earlier. Improper clear-cut logging has left the forest clogged with small, unhealthy beech saplings that will not mature properly. The closely-packed trees also block light from reaching the forest floor, preventing natural groundcover from regenerating.
