America's Nuclear Arsenal

U.S. Air Force Lt. James Leighton, center, and Capt. Dan Wetmore, rear, scramble to double check the status of equipment and missiles after power was cut to their missile launch facility in eastern Wyoming by service contractors. The facility has both batteries and generators as backup power supply sources for events as common as this and as threatening as a nuclear war. Nuclear missile crews still stand at the ready with hundreds of silos across the plains of the West.
