Loose from their pasture, Navajo horses wander the road side at Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park on the Utah-Arizona border July 1, 2010. The Red Rock Canyons Tour, organized by Lizard Head Cycling Tours, wound through 400 miles of the desert southwest. The route traveled through canyons and national monuments in Colorado, Utah and Arizona, ending at Lake Powell. (Kevin Moloney for the New York Times)
